The Harley School announces the following new hires:

Pete Balaji has been hired to teach upper school mathematics. Having earned two degrees in mathematics and education from St. John Fisher College, Balaji joins the upper school to teach Algebra II and Precalculus Honors.

Bailey Blough has been hired to teach second grade. Bailey previously taught second grade and English language learners in Malden, Mass., for the past three years. She earned her B.A. in communications and rhetoric from Nazareth College and her M.Ed. in elementary education and English as a second language from Lesley University.

Robert Brunelle has been hired as a middle school counselor. He joined the Harley community in January 2021 as an intern on the middle school counseling team. He received his bachelor’s from Nazareth College and his master’s from the University of Rochester.

Shane Caryl has been hired to teach upper school art. With two degrees in fine art glass from Rochester Institute of Technology, he is a talented 3-D artist with experience not only in glass, but also in casting, mold-making, welding, sculpting, textiles and painting.

Carolyn Cook has been hired to teach second grade. She began her education in her native Canada at the University of Ottawa where she earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts with a major in ethics and society. She also earned a bachelor double major in inclusive childhood education and communication & media from Nazareth College, as well as a Master of Science in education, literacy Birth-6.
