What’s been your biggest success?
My biggest success has been being a present mom who has taught my children to enjoy the challenge of making the world better and making a difference. Balancing the most important aspects of parenting while running a challenging business has been my greatest accomplishment.
What are your hopes for the Rochester community this year?
I love the Rochester community and sit on several organization boards in the area. Most important to me is to continue to support and advocate for access to education and higher education to reduce educational inequalities in our area. I also hope to continue seeing growth in entrepreneurship and new businesses entering the city. Additionally, as a huge fan of music and the arts, I hope we can reinvigorate the music and arts scene post-COVID that Rochester is so well-known for.
What do you do to unplug in your free time?
I am a long-distance runner and have completed several marathons. I find that running is when I do my best processing and problem-solving. Since running does take a toll on the body, I’ve also become a big practicer of (Bikram) Yoga which is a highly regimented yoga system done in 105°F and very high humidity. Some people may think that is crazy, but it is extraordinarily healing for the mind and body.
