Garber Automotive adds Doyle dealership to portfolio

The Garber Automotive Group has expanded again, acquiring Doyle Chevrolet Subaru in Webster.

With the purchase, Garber’s Rochester dealership portfolio has grown to six. Overall, the Saginaw, Michigan-based company has 23 vehicle franchises across six states, including 12 in the General Motors family. This is Garber’s first foray into Subaru.

“We are honored that the Doyle family chose us to carry on their outstanding family legacy,” Richard Garber, president of Garber Management Group, said in a news release. “Rochester has been exceedingly gracious to our organization since buying out John Holtz in 2011.”

Garber acquired the Doyle dealership from Mark and Mike Doyle.

“Michael and I are thankful to the Webster community and our staff for over 45 years of loyalty to Doyle Chevrolet Subaru. We are confident the Garber family is the perfect fit to maintain the future for Chevrolet and Subaru moving forward.”

Joel Williams, who has been with Garber in Rochester since 2012, will become general manager of the new dealership.

Garber, family owned since 1907, now sells Chevrolet, Subaru, Honda, Acura, Audi, Porsche and Volvo in Rochester.
