Rochester digital printer ColorCentric Corp. and digital print automation company prInternet Inc. have been acquired by Seattle firm Reischling Press Inc. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The two Rochester companies, as well as Picaboo.com, were part of the sale of assets of SoftPrint Holdings, a company founded in 2010 by John Lacagnina. ColorCentric began operations in 2003, while prInternet was founded in 2010. Lacagnina also co-founded Electronic Demand Publishing Inc. in 1991, a firm that was sold to Kinko’s Inc. in 1997.
“This acquisition continues to increase the RPI suite of services beyond ink on paper, through the addition of in-house capabilities for gifting and promotional items such as mugs, canvas and dye sublimation products,” said Rick Bellamy, CEO of RPI. “It also strengthens our geographic presence into the Northeast, creating transit cost efficiencies and accelerating time-to-home and time-to-business deliveries dramatically.”
ColorCentric provides digital printing solutions to companies in the photo and publishing industries. The company offers one of the broadest product portfolios with more than 300 unique products in its catalog.
PrInternet designs workflow solutions for the digital print industry. RPI operates in the make-on-demand photo books, greeting cards and business products markets for e-commerce companies, mass retailers and Fortune 1,000 companies.
