Listen to this article

Some 48 percent of residents of the 25th Congressional District, centered on the city of Rochester, have some form of college degree, including an associate’s degree, according to a U.S. Census report released on April 21 that organizes 2014 data at the congressional district level for the first time. That figure is higher than those for neighboring upstate districts including the 24th, centered on Syracuse; the 27th, extending from the western side of Monroe County to the eastern edge of the Buffalo metropolitan area; and the 26th, centered on Buffalo and Niagara Falls. The 25th district also had the smallest percentage of residents whose highest educational attainment was a high school degree.
