More than 40 employers and agencies that help job seekers will gather at Finger Lakes Community College Thursday for the 2nd Annual “Why I Love the Finger Lakes” Career Expo.

The event—free and open to the public—takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. at FLCC’s main campus in Canandaigua and is to feature employer booths, workshops and prizes for interview-ready attire.

Finger Lakes area employers in fields such as health care, retail, telecommunications and advanced manufacturing, will meet with and collect resumes from prospective workers, officials said. Some interviews may be conducted on site.

Job hunters will be able to update or create online networking profiles at a LinkedIn booth.

The expo is to include workshops covering topics such tools veterans can use in their job-search, careers in tourism and ways of looking at resumes and interviewing.

FLCC Career Services and the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board are co-sponsors. For a list of workshops, presenters and participating employers visit www.fingerlakesworks.com.
