Results of Rochester Business Alliance Inc.’s business outlook survey show that 72 percent of respondents believe business conditions are stable, good or very good right now. Some 91 percent believe conditions will be similar or better next year.
RBA released the results of its survey today.
“It’s very encouraging to now see a fair amount of area businesses realizing growth and expecting more in 2004,†said CEO Thomas Mooney. “The area has actually begun to experience some hiring in the local marketplace.â€
The hirings reflect the poll’s results regarding staffing, Mooney added. The survey showed that 72 percent of respondents have the same number of employees or more than last year. Some 89 percent of respondents believe staffing will stay the same or increase next year.
Regarding sales, 72 percent said sales are the same or better than last year. Some 93 percent expect sales to be the same or better next year.
Approximately 170 employers participated in the survey, representing 53,300 workers. Some 49 percent of the respondents were manufacturers.
The results reaffirm similar findings in a recent Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, RBA officials said.
