Eleversity hosts workplace wellness conference to combat burnout

As continues to drive turnover and workforce challenges across the region, Eleversity is bringing together local and national experts to help employers better support employee mental health and  

On Thursday, June 11, The Workplace Wellness Conference, “Combating Burnout & Building Sustainable Workplaces,” will share practical, evidence-based strategies employers can use to identify burnout, reduce risk and improve retention. It runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Ridgemont Country Club.  

 leaders are asked to solve employee burnout with limited tools and growing expectations, often without clear, actionable guidelines,” said Deborah Campbell, director of Eleversity. “We’re here to help change that.”  

Those speaking at the conference include Dr. Wanda Cooper, a workplace wellness consultant who has worked with businesses in the Rochester community for over 25 years. 

“Burnout and unmanaged workplace stress are no longer just individual concerns; they are critical operational liabilities,” Cooper said, adding that are steps that can be taken to avoid employee burnout.  

Joining Cooper at the Workplace Wellness Conference are local experts, including keynote speaker Desmond Jackson, deputy executive health director at Monroe Community Hospital; Regina Grice, director of human resources at Allendale Columbia School; Betsy Truax, vice president of equity and compensation at First American Equipment Finance, and Wende Knapp, partner and head of labor and employment law practice group at Woods Oviatt Gilman.
