GLOW With Your Hands draws 1,250 students for hands-on career exploration

More than 1,250 students from 32 school districts across the GLOW region gathered at the Fairgrounds on Sept. 30 for , a day-long, hands-on career exploration event. 

The program connected students with over 75 local businesses and career pathway organizations in advanced , , food production and . Participants engaged in hands-on demonstrations, interactive simulations, and direct conversations with employers about career opportunities available in the region. 

Students also learned that many companies offer well-paying positions directly after high school graduation, along with accelerated training programs to fast-track career growth. 

“Educators, workforce experts and local companies continue to collaborate to ensure our students are well-informed about the career opportunities available to them locally, and GLOW With Your Hands is another program that contributes to these efforts,” said Karyn Winters, event co-chair.
