Rochester-based has acquired DiMaxx Technologies, a move that strengthens its reach across the United States.

Financial details were not disclosed.

DiMaxx is a California-based manufacturer of laser optical components with advanced CNC machining, opto-mechanical assembly and metrology capabilities. Its Auburn, Calif. site and team will continue operations.

With facilities now on both coasts, EvolvOptic becomes one of the few U.S. providers able to deliver coast-to-coast, vertically integrated solutions — from raw materials through finished optical components, its leaders said.

“DiMaxx adds exceptional expertise in laser optical components and precision machining that directly supports our customers’ need for complex, schedule-critical optical systems,” said Ted Mooney, EvolvOptic president. “Together, we’ll reduce development time, expand aperture and complexity limits, and deliver with fewer interfaces and less program risk.”

EvolvOptic is also expanding locally.

The business announced in April a $5.1 million project to expand its local operation and add up to 40 new jobs over the next five years.

The company – which is located on Emerson Street – was created with Advanced Glass Industries’ acquisition of Glass Fab Inc.
