Indus Hospitality cuts ribbon on new hotel in Newark

Indus Group has christened the in the Wayne County village of Newark, the latest addition to the developer’s hotel portfolio.

Located at 434 East Union St., the four-story Microtel has 72 pet-friendly guest rooms, including single, double and suites. There also is a fitness center, guest laundry and outdoor fire pit.

The Microtel is the only hotel operating in Newark.

“It gives us great pleasure to be able to bring modern, quality and affordable lodging accommodations to the Newark community and we look forward to welcoming travelers to the area’s newest hotel,” Jett Mehta, president and CEO of -based Indus Hospitality, said in a news release.

The hotel opened on Thursday and have at least 15 employees.

Indus Hospitality owns and operates more than 75 properties, primarily and quick-serve restaurants across Rochester, the and Western New York. The company has been recognized with the Microtel Inn & Suites Franchisee of the Year, Hilton Worldwide Lighthouse Award and Best Western Champion Customer Care Award.
