Hotel developer finalizes property purchase for CityGate project

The developer of a dual-brand hotel at CityGate along the border of Rochester and has finalized the purchase of the property.

City Gate Hotel LLC, an entity associated with , paid $2,575,000 for a parcel on the south side of the CityGate complex that backs up to the Erie Canal.

The deed was filed with the Monroe County Clerk’s Office on Friday. Citygate South 2 SRE, LLC, which is affiliated with CityGate owner Streamline Partners, was the seller.

The $42.8 million project by Delmonte Hotel Group calls for a connected five-story property featuring an and AC by . There will be a total of 191 rooms.

Element by Westin (76 rooms) is an extended stay brand while (115 rooms) is a select service line within the Marriott portfolio.

The developer was approved for $7.85 million in tax incentives on the project from the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency in May of 2024. The target date for opening has been the third quarter of 2026.
