McAlpin Industries is seeking final approval for a new manufacturing warehouse on Publishers Parkway. (Site plan from documents filed with the town of Webster)
The town of Webster Planning Board will consider final site plan approval for a new light manufacturing and warehouse facility for McAlpin Industries Inc. on Publishers Parkway during a specially scheduled meeting on May 20.
McAlpin Industries, headquartered on Hollenbeck Street in Rochester, intends to build a 300,000-square-foot facility along Publishers Parkway and Hard Road. The firm needs final site plan approval, as well as special use permit approval, from the board.
If the board grants permission, the project will be built in three phases through 2030. Sarah Jean Costich, president and CEO of project engineering firm Costich Engineering, told the planning board earlier this year that construction on the first 120,000-square-foot section would be scheduled to begin this summer.
Founded in 1964, McAlpin provides a full slate of services — including robotic welding, machining, tooling, welding and stamping — to a variety of industries.
The new facility would be built on a 25.65-acre parcel in the OP Core Area North — Office Park District and include a manufacturing warehouse, tractor trailer loading docks and parking. Access to the site would be from the existing driveway off Hard Road.
Back in 2018, Morgan Communities intended to build a residential community on the property with plans for 74 apartments and 135 townhomes. That plan never came to fruition and on May 9 Morgan Publisher Apartments, LLC; Saint Gallen LLC; and St. Gall LLC signed over the deed to M and M Property RE LLC, which has the same Hollenbeck Street address as McAlpin Industries.
