Rochester Market President, Private Bank Market Leader, KeyBank

Years in current role: 1 as Market President, 4 asPrivate Bank Market Leader

What trends or innovations in your industry do you anticipate having the biggest impact in 2025?

I think that the economic and capital markets environments, as well as fiscal/monetary/tax policy, will all have a big impact on the banking industry in 2025. The Federal Reserve’s interest rate policy, inflation and unemployment trends, economic growth, the direction of equity market valuations, uncertainty around tax/tariff/immigration/deregulation policy of the new administration, geopolitical concerns like the war in Ukraine, and other global macroeconomic factors are all things we are keeping an eye on in 2025.

What role do you see Rochester playing in your organization’s growth over the next few years?

I am excited that Rochester is being recognized by KeyBank as an opportunity for growth. For example, our Private Bank team has grown over the last two years from two Relationship Managers to six Relationship Managers (three of whom were brought onto the team in the second half of 2024). We are a large bank with the capabilities and resources to serve clients of any size and complexity, but we serve our clients like a smaller bank, and we can get creative and flexible for clients when needed. I think that value proposition plays very well in this Rochester market.

What community initiatives or partnerships are you most excited about engaging with this year?

This year I am excited to be taking on the role of 2025 Annual Campaign Chair for The United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes. At KeyBank, we work hard to foster a culture of community involvement and engagement, and I believe our team in Rochester has done an excellent job of being present and visible in our community. In my view, the honor of taking on this role is really an acknowledgement of our entire team’s commitment to the Greater Rochester community, and we are thrilled to be working with The United Way on this year’s campaign.

How do you balance fostering innovation while managing day-to-day business operations?

Building relationships with and providing superior service to our current clients is always our top priority. In order to do that properly, we must continuously evolve our service model and product offerings so that we stay competitive and relevant. For example, in our commercial and business banking lines, we have invested in fintech partnerships that allow us to provide best-in-class solutions across the cash conversion cycle (AR/AP automation, merchant services, purchase cards, etc.), which allows us to bring a more consultative approach to our commercial and business client relationships.
