What organizational accomplishment are you most proud of this year?

I continue to be most proud of being able to continue providing comprehensive financial planning advice to our clients that has helped them navigate through various goals, objectives and life events. It is the most gratifying feeling to be of help to clients.

What are your expectations for the banking and finance industry in Rochester over the next year?

As interest rates fall, it’s likely that refinancing activity, especially on mortgages, is likely to increase.

What have your clients been most concerned about this year?

In the near term, clients are concerned about the impact of the federal reserve getting it right with the pace of interest rate change by the Federal Reserve and its impact on the economy and bond prices. Many clients are also concerned about the impact of the presidential election on the market.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your industry?

Financial planning is a rewarding career because we can help people reach their financial goals and objectives. Pursuing a Certified Financial Planner designation is important to learn about the comprehensive approach to planning.

What book that you’ve read recently would you recommend to others and why?

“Good Habits, Bad Habits” by Wendy Wood. I continue to be a self-help junkie. Released in 2019, but wanted to read since I wanted to be able to better understand how habits can help make a difference in our life patterns. We also have also developed an internship program where we have an opportunity to influence the lives of young people. I want to bring home the value of habits and help them think about the habits they have and what they might think about forming. For clients, it’s also helping them appreciate habits that helped them reach their financial goals and objectives.
