M&T Bank has brought its mobile M&T Spotlight Shop to downtown Rochester for the first time during this year’s Jazz Festival, featuring two local companies: Katboocha and Hedonist Artisan Chocolates.
The pop-up storefront has traveled across the Northeastern United States, highlighting small businesses and providing a space for them to connect with new customers and grow their brands.
The M&T Spotlight Shop will be open at the Rochester Jazz Fest during the following times:
• June 25: from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Gibbs & E. Main Street, featuring Katboocha, and
• June 26 – 29: 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Parcel 5 (285 E. Main St.), featuring Hedonist Artisan Chocolates.
Founded by Katarina Eddy, Katboocha is a kombucha brewery based on Railroad Street in Rochester. The Katboocha team prides itself on producing “drinkable kombucha” in a variety of flavors, crafted using a minimalistic technique that includes the fermentation of tea, sugar, water and kombucha culture. They offer a rotating lineup of kombucha, which can also be found packaged in cans across the region.
Hedonist Artisan Chocolates was founded in 2007 by Jennifer Posey after she made the decision to explore her passion for food. The business offers hand-crafted, small-batch chocolates and confections using old-world techniques and carefully sourced ingredients. Hedonist’s mission is to create quality products for their customers while making beautiful things and expressing their creativity.
As the longtime presenting sponsor of the Rochester International Jazz Festival, M&T Bank was looking to find new ways to use its sponsorship to celebrate local small businesses during the Jazz Fest. By working with festival organizers, local M&T leaders said the Spotlight Shop has created a unique opportunity to support local businesses and promote entrepreneurism in Rochester.
