What was your biggest success in 2023?

In 2023, we successfully transitioned to a new firm structure focused on industry niches. This structure, which was developed to support our growth initiatives and optimize our client service efforts, has allowed our People to become laser-focused and specialized in 2-3 industries and best serve clients in the different fields they operate. Through this transformation, we are able to provide our clients with the very best resources and deep industry knowledge and expertise so we can act as a trusted partner.

What are your expectations for your organization in 2024?

In 2024, we will be embarking on a new 5 Year Strategic Plan — one that allows us to redefine the public accounting experience for our clients and employees alike. This plan will be focused on key initiatives including supporting work-life harmony and flexibility, offering best-in-class training and development, fostering innovation through technology, living our core values, building relationships, curating deep industry knowledge for our clients and supporting our communities in everything we do.

What are you most concerned about this year?

I am concerned about the lack of awareness public accounting has with the younger generation. We have a responsibility to continue to promote the accounting profession and all of the great benefits that it brings to us. It is an amazing profession that allows people to do interesting work with sophisticated clients using the latest and greatest in technology, which now includes AI and Data Analytics. The accounting profession provides the opportunity to build relationships with diverse individuals and make a positive difference every day.

If you couldn’t work in your current industry, what would you want to do instead?

Our firm works with some of the most impactful nonprofit entities in the area that provide support and resources to so many people in our community. If I wasn’t in the public accounting industry, I would love to work for one of those organizations and be a part of a team that strives every day to have a positive impact on our communities.

What is your favorite activity to do in Rochester?

One of my favorite things to do in Rochester is attend the Jazz Fest with family and friends. It’s an awesome event that brings Rochester community members together in the summer!
