Rochester-based MicroEra Power has been selected as one of 16 clean energy startup companies from across the country to participate in the Electric Power Research Institute’s Incubatenergy Labs (IEL) program.
The companies will collaborate on accelerated technology demonstration projects to advance decarbonization, electrification, grid modernization and resilience as part of IEL’s 2023 cohort.
This year’s companies were chosen from more than 185 applicants by a panel of energy stakeholders and EPRI representatives.
“IEL continues to identify and work with the world’s most innovative early-stage companies that are focused on key elements of a clean, flexible and affordable energy future,” said Dan Killoren, program manager of EPRI’s Global Innovation Hub, in a release. “The participants chosen for the 2023 cohort have a unique opportunity to demonstrate how their creative solutions may help advance global clean energy goals.”
Based in California with offices around the world, EPRI is a non-profit energy research and development organization.
MicroEra Power is developing an on-site energy storage solution, called THERMAplus, which would provide resiliency and low-cost, low-carbon heating and cooling for commercial buildings.
