Newtex Industries Inc. has completed the acquisition of the Industrial Textile division of Pennsylvania-based Gentex Corp.
Company leaders said the acquisition strengthens Newtex’s position as a global leader in high-temperature textiles for industrial and military applications. A purchase price was not disclosed.
The acquisition includes Gentex’s Dual-Mirror and FlexIR brands of aluminized fabrics, marking a significant expansion of Newtex’s existing product portfolio.
Newtex plans to move most of the operations to its facility in North Carolina; some will be moved to its headquarters in Victor, Ontario County.
“The acquisition of Gentex’s textile division … highlights our commitment to the safety of fire fighters, industrial workers, equipment and facilities globally,” said Jerry Joliet, Nextex CEO.
Newtex is a leading manufacturer of high-performance textiles and fabricated textile systems for thermal management and fire protection. The business employs some 50 people at its three locations in Victor, North Carolina and California.
