Professional golfer Shaun Micheel will be sporting the logo of Canandaigua National Bank & Trust when he returns to the scene of his greatest tour accomplishment.
Micheel won the 2003 PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, his only PGA Tour victory. He’ll be back on the hallowed East Course next week to play in the 2023 PGA Championship, with cap sponsorship by CNB.
“Shaun’s story is woven into our collective story,” Sam Guerrieri, executive vice president of marketing and wealth management for the bank, said in a news release. “As a community bank, we recognize not just the importance of the PGA’s impact on our economy, but on our spirit, our people and our history.
“Supporting Shaun is a natural extension of the many ways CNB supports our community.”
Micheel will be joined by his son, Dade, for a practice round before tournament play begins on May 18. Micheel’s wife, Stephanie, was pregnant with Dade during the 2003 tournament.
“Founded in 1887, CNB has 25 branches in Ontario and Monroe counties, as well as three Financial Services Offices (in Canandaigua, Perinton and downtown Rochester).
“I am proud to be associated with a company so heavily invested in their community,” Micheel said.
