Years in current role: 44
What has been your organization’s biggest success over the past year?
A highlight over the past year has been the development and growth of our HR Services division. This expert counsel allows us to offer our clients a new realm of services, creating and managing customized HR solutions on-site and in real time. Beyond immediate HR services, we recognize synergies between many of our offerings that often require a great deal of interaction in understanding our client’s wants, needs, and pain points. Expanding our HR division has enabled us to leverage a higher knowledge and skillset, enhancing our level of compliance services across all other divisions. With the continued growth of this monumental team, we add value to all departments and the company as a whole, leaning into additional resources that better serve our clients.
What are your expectations for the next 6-12 months?
We expect to continue on the same trajectory of internal growth that we have been experiencing over the past year. We have welcomed many new industry experts to the Bene-Care family, allowing us to develop new offerings and provide higher levels of customer service. Our HR Services division and P&C division have made great strides in the marketplace thus far. We expect them to continue to do so, helping new and existing clients ensure they receive the best coverage at the best rates while maintaining full compliance. We expect to continue building meaningful relationships with our clients, learning the unique intricacies that make them who they are, and finding the tools and services most beneficial to them.
What advice would you give somebody just starting out in your industry?
Listen to your marketplace. Don’t assume you know their pain points but rather take the time to understand their unique needs and find ways in which you can support or guide them. I always say that Bene-Care is a service organization that happens to have a couple of sales folks. Our main goal is to empower companies to succeed by providing the knowledge and tools necessary. If you can maintain that mindset, you are on the right track!
What are the most common mistakes you see from companies you work with?
Running a business is now more complex than ever. Workforce management trends are accelerating based on today’s diverse, multigenerational workforce. Many companies are challenged with and spend too much trying to navigate all the legal and legislative guidelines, data reporting requirements, and state-specific regulations necessary to remain compliant. Utilizing a consultative partner with expertise in the industry to help pinpoint the options available and provide guidance on the best plans and products to fit their unique needs creates efficiency in time and management, improving the bottom line and allowing for focus on other pressing and more important matters related to the success of their business.
What do you enjoy most about working in the Rochester area?
My vision for this company has always been to provide resources to employers, serving as a true partner and client advocate. As a Rochester native, I believe that local matters. Bene-Care is a local family-owned business that has been developing strong relationships with the broader community for nearly 50 years. The same family mentality and connection to this community that helped launch our business remain at the heart of all our employee and client relationships. As your neighbor, we understand your highest priorities and biggest challenges. We are proud and honored at the opportunity to support other Rochester-based companies, standing by your side as you create the most effective workforce strategies to empower your business because your success is our success.
