Syracuse business acquires Rochester accounting firm

Bowers and Company CPAs, PLLC have acquired Robinson & Gordon Certified Public Accountants, P.C. in Rochester; a move that expands the Syracuse firm’s footprint.

Mark Robinson and Leslie Gordon, who founded the Rochester firm some 25 years ago, will remain with the business.

Robinson said joining Bowers allows the local business to expand its operational capacity, along with providing additional resources to assist clients.

“We see a deep value alignment with Bowers and a matched level of commitment to clients, service and relationships that has guided our practice over the decades,” Robinson said.

Since its formation in 1977, Bowers has experienced strong, steady growth from a modest team of less than 10 employees to its current size of 120 employees and climbing.

Michael D’Avirro and Carl Austin serve as managing partners. They said the business would continue to add employees to its Rochester site.
