Sutter will become president and CEO of LandPro Equipment
Thomas Sutter of Pittsford has been named president and chief executive officer of LandPro Equipment, a John Deere dealer with 20 locations across Western New York and the Finger Lakes, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Sutter, vice president of sales for the company since 2019, will assume his new role July 1.
LandPro is headquartered in Falconer (Chautauqua County) and specializes in agriculture, light industrial and lawn and garden equipment. The firm has five locations in the Rochester area: Brockport, Avon, Macedon, Oakfield and the Ontario County hamlet of Hall.
Before joining LandPro, Sutter was CEO of Hutson, Inc., a John Deere dealership serving Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. He will take over from Tracy Buck, who will remain on LandPro’s board of directors and continue to manage the Falconer location.
“Tom’s experience in agriculture, with John Deere and within a dealership in multiple organizations makes him ideal to hand the reins off to,” Buck said. “It has been a true pleasure to collaborate with Tom over the last three years, as we worked to overcome some of the hardest times I’ve seen in my career. Tom’s focus on customer satisfaction and continuing to create a culture that emulates our pro values will undoubtedly drive LandPro’s success in the future.”
Said Sutter: “Our goals since I came here almost three years ago have always been focused on improving our customer and employee experiences and that focus will not change. Tracy Buck has been in the business for 43 years and his will be big shoes to fill. I am ready and excited for the opportunity to work with such a phenomenal team to continue to grow our customer service capabilities and further enhance our experiences.”
Sutter is a graduate of the University of Illinois and earned his MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School.
