Erdman Anthony, the multidisciplinary engineering firm headquartered in Rochester, has expanded into Virginia and Maryland with the acquisition of Dwyer Engineering.

Dwyer Engineering was founded in 1981 and provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing and refrigeration engineering to food store, restaurant, retail and office building markets from offices in Leesburg, Va., and Columbia, Md.

“I am thrilled to welcome the people of Dwyer Engineering to our Erdman Anthony community,” Curt Helman, president and CEO of Erdman Anthony, said in a news release. “Dwyer is a fantastic company with talented people, and joining forces will allow both firms to better serve our clients with greater depth of resources than ever before.”

All Dwyer employees will be aligned under Erdman Anthony’s facilities engineering division and Dwyer founder Matt Dwyer will become a vice president within Erdman Anthony.

“Joining our teams means expanded capacity for serving our clients and the continuation of our 40-year commitment to provide growing companies with cost-effective solutions,” Dwyer said.

Founded in 1954, Erdman Anthony has more than 270 employees, including 78 engineers and land surveyors, across nine offices (Rochester, Buffalo, Albany; Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, Pa.; West Palm Beach, Fla.; Portland, Maine; and now the new locations in Leesburg, Va., and Columbia, Md.).

Erdman Anthony provides engineering expertise for bridge, highway, commercial/site development, education, energy, health care, industrial, oil and gas, parks and recreation, private utility, rail, retail and water/sewer sectors.
