Acquest Development LLC of Buffalo has added another former Eastman Kodak Co. building to its portfolio and is in the process of leasing the available 800,000 square feet at 2600 Manitou Road in Gates.

Acquest paid $7 million for the building, with U.S. Bank National Association listed as the seller on documents filed on March 14 with the Monroe County Clerk’s Office. It’s the most expensive deed transfer filed this month.
“It’s probably one of the nicest buildings in the region that’s vacant,” said Tim Weber, a director of development for Acquest.
The new owner is targeting biochemical firms, higher education or “anyone looking to consolidate,” Weber said. “The building is move-in ready and that includes turn-key labs.”
Acquest also owns 1600 Lexington Ave., a building with two million square feet that once served as Kodak’s distribution center. The firm bought the building from Kodak in April 2008.
“When we bought it, the building was 5 percent occupied,” Weber said. “Now we have probably one bathroom to rent. It’s 100 percent occupied.”
