The Pike Company grows to east and west
The Pike Company Inc., one of the largest construction management firms in the Northeast, is now even larger.
Pike acquired JT Vaeth Construction of Buffalo on Tuesday and BCI Construction LLC of Albany on Wednesday. The acquisitions were announced this afternoon.
Pike has had a presence throughout Western New York for 145 years and is currently involved in a $200 million expansion of the Athenex pharmaceutical plant in Dunkirk and the $40 million expansion of the emergency and trauma departments at Erie County Medical Center.
The company believes that the addition of the JT Vaeth team will only strengthen its reach in the area, CEO Rufus Judson said in a news release.
Tim Vaeth, president of JT Vaeth, will oversee Buffalo-area operations for The Pike Company.
“As a fifth-generation, family owned enterprise, they are known for, and believe in, integrity, quality and commitment to their clients,” Vaeth said in a news release. “I’m looking forward to helping the company build on that legacy and further establish their roots here in Western New York.”
BCI Construction was formed in 1993 and is prominent in commercial, industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, health care, educational and multi-family projects.
The BCI leadership and project management teams will join Pike. Current BCI projects will be completed by the existing BCI teams over the next year.
The Pike office in the Albany suburb of Clifton Park and the BCI office in Albany will merge into one.
“Pike and BCI have had a working relationship for several years,” Judson said. “It is through these relationships that our companies have effectively come together, resulting in what we both believe is a move that will double down on our investment into the Eastern region of Upstate New York.”
