Dixon Tool & Manufacturing Inc. has a new home at 240 Burrows St., with nearly three times the space and three jobs added, and as many as five more workers to come in the next few years, officials announced Wednesday.

A maker of machine replacement and prototype parts, Dixon moved from a 5,200-square-foot building at 1203 Jay St. to a 16,200-square-foot building bought by company owner Robert Hyder III.

Dixon also builds staging, assembly and inspection fixtures, provides die building and repair, and does production machining.

Hyder bought the former TA Dixon Tool &Die Inc. in March 2006.

The $330,000 expansion included the purchase and renovation of the building, and relocation costs, officials said. The city of Rochester provided a $20,000 grant from its building renovation program to defray the cost.

Dixon has 14 employees and reports annual sales of $1.3 million, officials said.
