LeChase Construction Services has been recognized for construction excellence in the 2024 Build America Awards, including the firm’s work on expansion of The Strong Museum of Play in downtown Rochester.

Given annually by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and sponsored by Construction Risk Partners, the Build America Awards honor the nation’s “most impressive construction projects.”

LeChase partnered with The Strong, owner’s representative Cornerstone and CJS Architects on the multi-year project, which added exhibits, provided updated amenities and created more interactive play areas. The work also included construction of a parking ramp.

“We’re proud to see our partners at LeChase Construction recognized nationally for the great work that they did building The Strong Museum of Play’s 90,000-square-foot expansion and playful parking garage,” Steve Dubnik, president and CEO of The Strong, said in a news release. “The team at LeChase helped to make this transformative project a reality, and now The Strong can welcome even more people from across the globe to experience the power of play.”

LeChase, celebrating its 80th anniversary, also was recognized for Victory Lofts in Binghamton. The historic but long-vacant EJ Victory Shoe Factory was converted into 156 upscale market-rate apartments along with space for future retail. LeChase teamed with Paulus Development and VIP Structures architecture.

“At LeChase, we take special pride in projects, like these, that enhance the communities where our people live and work,” said Kyle Sayers, executive vice president and chief operating officer at LeChase. “The Strong and Victory Lofts projects demonstrate that true partnership — between owners, contractors, designers and community stakeholders — can drive exceptional results.”
