Pelican Point Marina along the east side of Canandaigua Lake in Rushville has been sold to Matt Winslow.
Pelican Point Marina is a full-service marina offering seasonal wet and dry storage and launch services, on-water fuel and a service center for boats and jet skis, as well as detailing, winterization and off-season covered storage.
Winslow is co-founder and managing director of Long Weekend, a hospitality development firm. Long Weekend provides property and brand oversight for The Lake House on Canandaigua.
“As a member of the community, it was important for me to have the new owner invested in the region and dedicated to enhancing the property,” former owner William Pellicano said in a news release. “With the opening of the The Lake House on Canandaigua … Canandaigua is quickly emerging as a national destination.
“My family and I have loved owning Pelican Point, and I’m working closely with Matt on a smooth transition to ensure our team members and customers understand his plan to enhance the marina operation and build out new amenities for our patrons.”
Winslow said he intends to develop “authentic experiences for visitors and community members that showcase Canandaigua as a year-round destination.
“Pelican Point is an important asset to the community,” he said. “As a testament to the team and their focus on customer service, the business is thriving. Like Bill did before me, I will continue to support our existing team as they grow the operation and will work closely with them to identify additional services and amenities that will benefit our customers and the community at large.”
