The newest senior living apartment community has opened in Irondequoit.
Durand Senior Apartments, a Providence Housing Development Corp. project, provide 65 one- and two-bedroom affordable housing units for seniors age 55 and over.
The new senior community is at 4225 and 4250 Culver Road and is adjacent to the St. Salome Apartments, another development by Providence Housing.
“The aging population in Rochester is growing, especially here in Irondequoit,” Mark Greisberger, executive director for Providence Housing, said in a news release. “We are thrilled to provide up to 70 seniors with safe, affordable new housing at Durand Senior Apartments just in time for the holidays.”
Durand Senior Apartments features seven wheelchair accessible units and three units for hearing/visually impaired residents. All units are handicap visitable or adaptable and include Energy Star appliances, central air conditioning, emergency call system and intercom entry.
Providence Housing is a not-for-profit organization affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester and develops, finances and manages housing for individuals and families in the 12 counties for the diocese.
