Wegmans will open its 95th store Sunday, Nov. 5, this time in Medford, Mass.
The doors to the 120,000-square-foot store open at 7 a.m., which isn’t as early as it sounds because of the “fall back” from Daylight Saving Time.
The store will be Wegmans‘ fifth in the Bay State, and the first in New England to feature “The Burger Bar,” a casual restaurant, and “The Pizza Shop” with a brick hearth oven.
Some of the store’s 450 employees have been training for months, the grocery store company said in a statement announcing the opening.
“Customers want to learn where this food came from, how best to prepare it at home, and what else goes well with it,” said Medford executive chef Arlo Trainor. “The better we train our people, the better these conversations can be.”

The Medford Wegmans is the last of three stores the Rochester-based chain opened in 2017. Another store is planned to open in Natick, Mass., in the spring.
