Seventeen are selected for annual honors

Fifteen financial executives from the business and non-profit sectors have been selected as finalists for the 2016 Financial Executive of the Year Award, which recognizes contributions to their organizations and the community during the past year. In addition, Lifetime Achievement and Rising Star award recipients have been named.

The awards luncheon, co-presented by the local chapter of Financial Executives International and the Rochester Business Journal, is slated for May 19 at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

The finalists are:

Small for-profit
Peter Juroe, CFO/CAO, Soleo Communications; Scott Mulcahy, CFO, eHealth Technologies; Michael Sayers, CFO, Biomaxx Inc.

Medium for-profit
Richard Finley, CFO, Buckingham Properties; Tom Kelly, CFO, Optimax; Keith Robinson, chief financial adviser, Diamond Packaging.

Large for-profit
Daniel Crist, CFO, Systems Management Planning; Kevin B. Klotzbach, CFO and executive vice president, Financial Institutions Inc.; Monica Savino, CFO, the Bonadio Group.

Small non-profit
Terry E. Hartmann, director of finance and operations, Children’s Institute Inc.; Brenda Krusenstjerna, director of finance, Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester; Alana Sansone, director of finance ad operations, Geva Theatre Center.

Large non-profit
Michael Messier, executive vice president and CFO, YourCare Health Plan, A Monroe Plan Company; Leanne McGuinness, senior vice president and CFO, the Summit Federal Credit Union; Teresa Anderson, vice president, financial operations, Excellus Health Plan Inc.
John Zimmer, senior vice president of finance and CFO of Transcat Inc., has been selected to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Rising Star Award will be presented to Joseph Greenthal, controller at Alfred State College.
