Mike Colyer joined Foundry as its founding CEO in October 2019. Previously, he focused on business development at Core Scientific, which is now North America’s largest cryptocurrency hosting company. He was the President and COO of Savage IO, a small, Western NY-based 3MW mining company. Colyer has spent the last 5 years navigating the large-scale mining space, building strong relationships with key industry participants. Before his pivot into the crypto industry, he was an operational and commercial executive for manufacturing and distribution firms for more than two decades, often serving at the behest of private-equity backers. Colyer started his career at GE. In 2007, Colyer and his wife, Lisa, co-founded the Clairebear Foundation, a non-profit that supports families with sick children. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and an MBA in Corporate Finance.
Michael Moro serves as the CEO of Genesis, a full-service digital currency prime brokerage. Genesis provides a single point of access for global high net worth and institutional investors, facilitating billions in digital currency trades, loans and transactions on a monthly basis. Moro is responsible for planning and executing the long-term strategic vision for the firm. Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Genesis and was responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations. He began his career at Citi in investment banking, where he covered financial institutions and finance companies. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 and 86/87 licenses. Additionally, he sits on the Oversight Committee for the CME CF Bitcoin Pricing Products.
