Allstate Corp. agency owners in the Rochester area will team up to host a supply drive to benefit the YWCA of Rochester & Monroe Counties.
Donations made at nearly 20 local agencies will support the YWCA’s mission to empower women to regain control of their lives and to get on the path to a healthy, successful future. The supply drive is part of a multi-region Allstate Foundation Purple Purse donation effort that will benefit domestic violence nonprofits throughout the Northeast.
“As small business owners and community leaders, these Allstate agency owners see firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing the communities they serve,” said New York region spokesperson Kayla Taylor in a statement. “Giving back is core to who they are as agency owners, which is why they’re proud to volunteer and raise funds to support survivors of domestic violence and their families across the Rochester area.”
Donations of cleaning supplies, non-perishable food, personal care items, diapers and infant formula will be accepted at area Allstate agencies through Dec. 11. In addition, through their volunteer efforts, each participating Rochester-area Allstate agency owner will secure a $1,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grant, which will be distributed by the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
NNEDV and YWCA are among thousands of organizations this year to receive Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grants. The grants support organizations addressing domestic violence, youth empowerment, disaster preparedness, hunger and other causes.
