Tashanda Thomas

headshot Tashanda Thomas is a Human Resources Professional who provides direction and counsel to assigned client groups from an influencing, proactive, big picture mindset, but with an ability to be reactive and task-oriented, as necessary, to coach, advise and drive business results in regard to human capital issues. Tashanda has over ten years of HR experience, she knows the importance of building relationships with employees and managers at all levels to support the business strategy, resolve communication issues and motivate individuals to optimal performance.
Tashanda was recognized as one of the RBJ’s Forty under 40 honorees in 2018 and was a 2019 Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce IGNITE Future Leaders Award finalist. Tashanda has a strong interest and commitment to community leadership and the areas of focus in which to make a sustainable difference. The United Way’s African American leadership development program has broaden her awareness for the importance of having a seat at the table when policy-making decisions are being made that impact the community of Rochester. She currently serves as a volunteer with the YMCA of Greater Rochester and the Willow Domestic Violence Center. Prior to this, Tashanda has volunteered with a number of agencies, including the YWCA, Food Link, Community Place, Hillside, Ibero and the Salvation Army. A highlight for Tashanda was the success of two Bone Marrow Drives. These events brought awareness to both the African American and Latino communities about the need for increased donors.
Tashanda holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Monroe Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resources from St. John Fisher College.
