Ron is a licensed master electrician with 38 years of experience in the field. For the past 12 years he has been the Assistant Business Manager, working on multiple contracts with private companies including; Genesee Brewery, Victor Insulators and 45 other local contractors.
Ron is the union representative for over 1,000 members. Along with Business Manager, Dave Young, Ron has worked diligently towards inclusion and diversity in his roles as Assistant Business Manager, and previously as a foreman, instructor, and Trustee.
While working with the Rochester Multi-Craft Apprenticeship Preparation Program, Rochester Joint Apprentice Training Committee and multiple Project Labor Agreements (PLA) Ron has seen diversity and inclusion work for everyone involved!
Unknowingly, Ron was thrown into the inclusion and diversity fight when he got married and had a daughter. From Little League, education, buying a car and house, he was amazed at the inequality of how women were treated. In his life and career, Ron has always treated everyone fairly, no matter what color, gender, shape or size they were. What was important in the field is how hard you worked, not what you looked like or where you came from.
In his current role as Assistant Business Manager, Ron has done his best to steer colleagues, contractors and members to better understand how to use our differences to accomplish a common goal. His favorite quote from one of his first foreman is, “ The only dumb question is the one you don’t ask.”
