The MVP Health Care Fitness Court at Cobb’s Hill Park gives workout enthusiasts — or exercise newbies — a place to work up a sweat while enjoying the great outdoors.
Where else can you do your lunges, pushups and core exercises in the sunshine or under the stars with the fountain of Lake Riley as the backdrop?
The Fitness Court is a 30-piece circuit training system near the park entrance off Culver Road. Users can leverage their body weight at a variety of angles and resistance levels to increase their mobility and strength.
There’s also nothing intimidating about it, so the space works well for people of all fitness levels. It also allowed individuals to work out when gyms were closed down during the pandemic shutdown.
And the best part, besides the sunshine and fresh air? It’s free and available whenever the park is open. So, if your hours don’t always align with those of your regular workout facility, or you would rather feel a nice breeze while doing pullups and rowing exercises, the park is your spot.
The Fitness Court opened in 2019 and was made possible by the city of Rochester, MVP Health Care and the National Fitness Campaign.
