Warren glides into second term, Baxter takes Sheriff’s Office

The results of the 2017 elections are in, with a mix of expected re-elections and surprising changes. Mayor Lovely Warren easily won a second term as mayor with 17,751 votes. Republican Tony Micciche had 5,504 votes; James Sheppard, running as an Independent, had 4,140 votes; Green Party Candidate Alex White had 1,579 votes; and Lori Thomas had 414 votes.
