What opportunities do you see for growth or development in the Rochester area?
Rochester offers great opportunities for growth in affordable housing through neighborhood revitalization, public-private partnerships and policy support. Expanding supportive housing, engaging communities, and utilizing innovative building methods can address housing needs effectively. These efforts can foster inclusive, vibrant neighborhoods, and promote long-term stability for residents.
What’s one project your team is especially proud of?
We are very proud of Midvale Commons, located in Perinton. This senior community consists of new construction of 76 units in a low-rise elevator building. The keynote feature of the development is the commitment to state of the art energy and green programming. Midvale Commons is PathStone’s first development to achieve net-zero and LEED Gold certification through highly advanced utility and building systems including roof-mounted solar panels. Our real estate development team did a stellar job!
How do you see local government or policy changes impacting your sector?
Supportive policies can enable the creation of more affordable housing, streamline permits, and foster partnerships, promoting growth. Conversely, restrictive policies or funding restrictions can hinder progress. We continue to advocate for policies that prioritize affordable housing and sustainable development to ensure we can effectively serve our community’s needs and create a lasting, positive change.
