Two Rochester area construction firms received state-wide recognition in the Associated Builders & Contractors Empire State Chapter’s Construction Excellence Awards.
Power & Construction Group, Inc. of Scottsville won two awards, the first as Specialty Contractor Electrical Industrial for Station 43, and the second in the Utilities category for the Winton Road South Gas Replacement Project.
Villager Construction of Fairport received the Infrastructure Heavy award for the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport access roadway improvements.
The ABC awards acknowledge projects built by the merit/open shop construction community.
“There is a belief by many, particularly by those in elected office, that only union labor is involved in the most complex projects in rebuilding New York and altering the skyline of many of our communities,” Brian Sampson, president of the Empire State Chapter, said in a news release. “Nothing could be further from the truth.
“Our members continue to push the envelope to win work, develop people and deliver work safely, ethically and profitably for the betterment of the communities in which they work.”
