New Hampshire firm acquires The Duke Company
A New Hampshire-based company has completed the acquisition of The Duke Company, an equipment rental and construction supply firm headquartered in Henrietta.
Milton Rents, which has nine locations across New England, finalized the purchase of The Duke Co. property at 299 Jefferson Rd. on May 30.
Milton Real Properties of Massachusetts LLC paid $3.775 million for the parcel of land to D&T Rents Jefferson LLC, a subsidiary of The Duke Co., according to the deed filed with the Monroe County Clerk’s office.
Milton Rents also purchased a secondary property at 140 Silvarole Rd. in Henrietta from D&T Rents Salt LLC for $1,155,000 on May 24.
The Duke Co. was founded in 2012 by David Terry, who left the corporate side of franchised equipment rentals to start his own firm. Along with the site in Henrietta, The Duke Co. has locations in Ithaca, Dansville and Auburn and specializes in equipment rental, building supplies, construction materials and ice control products.
Milton Rents, based in Plaistow, N.H., began as a three-outlet operation and 25 employees in 2018. Expansion has been rapid, with more than 100 employees now on the payroll. This is the firm’s first venture into New York.
