Geva Theatre will celebrate its 50th Anniversary season at Curtain Call: The Golden Gala, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, June 9.
For nearly 25 years, Curtain Call has raised needed funds for Geva’s education and engagement programs, making it possible for thousands of people across the region to experience the transformative power of live theatre.
This one-night-only anniversary event will highlight Geva productions from the past five decades with performers who are both Geva favorites and Broadway regulars.
Featured artists are: John Bolton (Anastasia on Broadway, The Music Man at Geva), Steve Rosen (Spamalot on Broadway, The Other Josh Cohen at Geva) and Alexis Sims (for colored girls… on Broadway, Geva’s current Cinderella).
There will also be a performance by Geva’s Summer Academy students performing a number from a past Geva favorite, Sister Act!
“Geva’s golden gala is indeed a landmark event,” said Elizabeth Williamson, Geva’s artistic director. “This year we will celebrate Geva’s 50-year artistic, education and outreach legacy, along with our exciting partnerships and vision for the future.”
To celebrate Geva’s golden anniversary, guests are invited to Dress for the Decades in their favorite look from the last 50 years or wear summer chic.
Curtain Call supports, in part, Geva’s education department which produces the annual Summer Academy, an intensive four-week professional training program for young actors.
Tickets are $175. To purchase tickets, donate, become a sponsor or find more information, visit the event website here.
