New listings rose in Monroe County in February, bucking the statewide trend, while closed home sales plummeted, though not to the degree experienced elsewhere in New York.
There were 503 new listings last month in Monroe County, a bump of 5 percent compared to February of 2022. Across the state, however, new listings dropped 15.8, according to data compiled by the New York State Association of Realtors.
Closed sales fell 18.4 percent in Monroe County (from 337 to 225), compared to a drop of 34.3 percent for the state. There were just 6,147 units sold in February throughout New York, the lowest total since February of 2014.
Overall inventory in the county rose by 44.5 percent year-over-year, from 274 to 396. That, too, was contrary to the state trend, which saw inventory dip 8.2 percent.
