Maguire Dealerships acquire Shepard Ford

The Maguire Family of Dealerships has moved into the greater Rochester area with the acquisition of Shepard Ford in Canandaigua.

Established in the Tompkins County village of Trumansburg with a Ford dealership in 1977, Maguire now operates 18 dealerships across Western and Central New York, including eight in Ithaca, three in greater Syracuse and three on Grand Island.

Current Shepard Ford employees are expected to transition to the new dealership, Maguire Ford of Canandaigua.

“Our dealership has always been focused on doing right by our customers, giving back to our community, and we’re looking forward to continuing that tradition,” company president Phil Maguire said in a news release.

Headquartered in Ithaca, Maguire moved into the greater Buffalo market last fall with the acquisition of three former Fuccillo dealerships on Grand Island.

The group sells 19 brands across 18 dealerships.
