The final movies ever to be shown at Regal Greece Ridge Stadium 12 are taking place today.
The theater at the Mall at Greece Ridge will close its doors forever, part of a nationwide reduction of leased space as Regal’s parent company, Cineworld, moves forward with bankruptcy proceedings.
“Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” is the last movie on the schedule for the theater, with an 8 p.m. start time.
Regal will still operate two other theaters in the Rochester market, Regal Henrietta and Regal Eastview Mall.
The company abandoned its Irondequoit location in the Culver Ridge Plaza in 2020, prompting the property owner, Irondequoit TK Owner LLC, to file suit in state Supreme Court in Monroe County.
The plaintiff claimed in a March 2022 lawsuit that Regal owed more than $2.1 million in unpaid rent. A stay was issued in October after Cineworld file for bankruptcy.
