The Bonadio Group has acquired Rochester-based accounting firm, Webber CPA, which will now operate under The Bonadio Group name.
With over 850 employees spanning 10 offices, this expansion adds to The Bonadio Group’s Rochester footprint.
Company leaders said the acquisition aligns with The Bonadio Group’s strategic goals to continuously enhance service offerings and capabilities and seek opportunities for growth.
Webber CPA was founded in 2015 to provide forensic accounting services – such as internal fraud investigations and compliance audits – in financial exploitation cases for nonprofits, government agencies, financial institutions and regulatory bodies across the U.S. and the U.K.
The firm has since expanded its offerings to include personal finance, business and staffing consulting services.
“As we continue to seek new ways to best service clients, this acquisition posed an ideal opportunity for us to advance our forensic accounting and consulting specialties,” said Bruce Zicari, The Bonadio Group’s CEO. “Our new teammates will be an incredible addition and we look forward to welcoming them to our purpose-driven culture.”
As a part of the acquisition, Karen Webber, founder and owner of Webber CPA, joins Bonadio as a partner in the Consulting Service Line, bringing with her years of leadership experience and expertise in fraud and forensics. Karen is also the founder of FraudFindr, a forensic accounting software solution that will add to the firm’s existing portfolio.
“From the beginning, Webber’s core values of passion, integrity, honesty, positive attitude and meaningful work have influenced everything we do – from the clients we partner with to the engagements we service,” Webber said. “It was immediately clear to me that The Bonadio Group shares those values; and with the firm’s proven track record of success, I know this acquisition will present great opportunities to enhance the experiences of our team and our clients.”
