EMF, a division of Omega Optical Holdings, has named Darrick Dutcher its general manager, overseeing operations at the company’s main manufacturing site in Ithaca, as well as its location on Paul Road in Rochester.

Dutcher

Dutcher has an MBA from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester and has a background in lean manufacturing practices and PPI-business system methods.

He most recently served as director of manufacturing for IDEX Health & Science. Prior to that, he oversaw manufacturing at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Additionally, Dutcher was a U.S. Army Captain who managed logistics and operations in multiple roles for an 800-plus soldier field artillery and helicopter battalion over 27 months of deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mike Ransford, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Omega Optical Holdings, said Dutcher “brings a proven track record of building great teams and creating business efficiencies while working in a time-sensitive, high-technology arena.”

Ransford added that Dutcher’s background would help the business achieve its goals.

EMF offers a portfolio of commercial high-volume and large-format optical coating solutions on glass, metals, ceramics, plastics and IR substrates. Founded in 1936 as Evaporated Metal Films, the company was the first in the US to offer thin film coatings.
