What do you enjoy most about your position?
What I enjoy most about my position is being able to make the business of law function for our all of our people, while creating a work environment where we handle the stresses that come with the practice of law with some good humor, tolerance and forgiveness.
What is one thing you hope to accomplish before the end of next year?
I hope that we can grow our Rochester office of Barclay Damon LLP by 3-5 lateral attorneys in 2023.
What do you see as the biggest strengths of the legal community in Rochester?
The biggest strengths of the legal community in Rochester are our sophisticated legal practices, combined with a general willingness of our attorneys to give their time, treasure and talents back to community organizations, all while doing some pioneering work in enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
What do you see as the biggest challenges for the legal community in Rochester?
The biggest challenge for the legal community in Rochester is meeting the expectations of our clients in a manner that allows our practitioners a modicum of work/life balance.
What are your favorite activities outside of the office?
My favorite activities outside of the office are sailing on Lake Ontario during the Summer and skiing at Bristol Mountain during the Winter. I also enjoy chairing the Monroe County Emergency Planning Committee as well as the Pastoral Council of Our Lady of Lourdes / St. Ann parishes.
