What do you enjoy most about your position?

Working with our people. We have a great team of 240 lawyers and other professionals. They are good at their jobs and at serving our clients, but they are also good people with their priorities in the right place.

What do you see as the biggest strengths of the legal community in Rochester?

For those of us in private practice, the value proposition for clients and potential clients is real. We have world class lawyers in Rochester, with exceptional skills in highly specialized practice areas, and we have a rate structure that is a fraction of what similarly skilled lawyers charge in major markets. Particularly in challenging economic times, with in-house legal departments under pressure to find savings, that becomes a very compelling message.

What are your favorite activities outside of the office?

Spending time with my wife at our place in Inlet, New York, collecting vintage baseball cards and other sports memorabilia, and rooting for my beloved Buffalo Bills.
