Women in manufacturing is the focus of an upcoming event presented by The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program.
The Women in Manufacturing Summit will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at NextCorps at 260 East Main St. in downtown Rochester.
The event will include a networking lunch and feature a panel of advanced manufacturing experts who will share their experience in the field.
It will also be streamed to attendees virtually via Zoom.
Launched in the fall of 2019 by the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association and Monroe Community College, FLYAP partners with BOCES and Career & Technical Education high school in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region to connect students to advanced manufacturing companies through events that lead to job shadows and paid co-ops.
The program has registered some 500 students for career exploration opportunities at 150 businesses in the region.
